Getting your youth group to Analyze and understand, 'A Virtuous Woman.'
Divide class into four groups. Read Proverbs ch.31.v.10-31 to class before engaging in the following two activities. It is up to the activity leader’s discretion as to how long each activity will last.
Suggested time: 10-20 minutes, depending on class length.
It is also required that the Youth use physical Bibles to increase the Activity’s challenge.
“When it comes to this passage, a virtuous woman can be divided into four separate desirable christian traits: Commits fully and willingly to her duties with wisdom; Expands her good and provides what is needed for her household; Is the pride of her husband; Fears God and will receive what is due to her for her labor. For this activity Divide the class into four groups. Read Proverbs ch.31.v.10-31 to class before engaging in the following two activities.”
Activity 1 of, How to Understand 'A virtuous woman' passage.
Assign each of the four group one of these four traits each to search for in the Passage of
Proverbs ch.13 vv.10-31.
It is worth noting that many of these traits may have verses that overlap with each group and may not be included in the group of verses that are shown. This does not mean they are wrong, so long as they (the youth) can explain the verse and why it relates to that trait in a clear way. You may also choose to share the selected verses of each Group has stated the ones they found, or after the activity is done.
“find verses in Proverbs ch.31 which speak of the virtuous woman committing fully and willingly to her duties with wisdom.”
Group 2: “find the verses in Proverbs ch.31 which speak of the virtuous woman, Expanding he goods and provides what is needed for the household.”
“Find verses in Proverbs ch.31 which speak of the virtuous woman being the pride of her husband.”
“Find verses in Proverbs ch.31 which speak of the virtuous woman as Fearing God and receiving what is due to her for her labor”
Activity 2 for how to better understand 'A Virtuous Woman' passage.
Have class search for other verses in or outside of proverbs which also exemplify Christians or the People of God’s duties which relate to the verses that their group searched for in proverbs. I have written in a few example verses for whoever it may be that is leading this activity.
Group 1: “Find verses which also confirm that we should commit ourselves to our godly family and our duties in the church. 3 verses at least.”
*1st Cor 3:16
Group 2: “Search for verses which list the christian duty for expanding their household (the church) and provides for them. 3 verses at least.”
*1st Corinthians 3:12
Group 3: “Find verses in the Bible in which the bride (the Church) is the pride of her husband (Christ) and reveals his name to the people. 3 verses at least.”
Group 4: “Find verse which mention, or reveal the reward for the Church which serves God. 3 verses at least.”
We as the Church, and people, of God are destined to be the bride of Jesus Christ, the perfect Lamb. So when it comes to our relationship with Christ we ought to take after the virtuous woman, willing to work, kind to the needy, humble to her husband, fearing of God and wise in her ways. Should we act in such a way then we will bring praise to the Lamb, who is our husbandman, we will shine his light to all the world, and we shall make his name known at the gates. And in turn, he shall praise us so long as we are just, so long as we are faithful to him and only him as a perfect bride to her husband then he will be proud to call us his.
